Alexandros Rigas received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2011. He has more than 3 years of research experience in the field of smart grids. His research interests include: integration and control of energy storage systems in microgrids, modeling of electrochemical energy storage and optimization techniques for the operation of microgrids.
Iasonas Kouveliotis -Lysikatos received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2013. Since then he has been working at the Electric Power Division of NTUA in the area of Distributed Energy Resources. He has participated in several European research projects such as DREAM, SmarterEMC2, ERIGrid and Compile. His research interests include: Microgrids and distributed application techniques applications in smart grids with increased DG penetration, Decentralized control and ancillary services provision in distribution grids, Development of Multi-Agent Systems for decentralized energy management applications using blockchain technology and smart contracts. He is member of the technical chamber of Greece (TEE) and an IEEE student member.

George Messinis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2011. Since then he works as a researcher and PhD candidate at the Electric Power Division of NTUA in the area of Smart Grids. He has participated in several national projects as well as in the DERri, SmartKye, BEAMS, IGreenGrid and SmarterEMC2 European projects. His research interests include smart grids, smart meters, machine learning, data mining, microgrids and distribution grid operation. He is a member of the technical chamber of Greece (TEE).
Thomas Pazios received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in July 2012. The title of his thesis is “Research of small wind turbines connection in small scale applications with battery storage and research, design and construction of battery charge controller with dump load” . His research interests include small scale isolated systems with renewable energy sources and mainly the research of axial flux permanent magnet small wind turbines connection to battery banks, SCADA systems and microgrids.

Olga Vlachokyriakou received her diploma in Electrical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens in 2014. The title of her thesis is "Partitioning of Power Networks and Decentralised Control for Voltage Regulation in case of disturbances". Her research interests include: transmission systems,high renewable penetration in Electricity Grids,dispersed generation and storage, dynamic control of power systems.
Dimitris N. Trakas received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Master of Sciences degree in Energy Production and Management from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece, in 2009 and 2011. In 2018, he received the PhD degree on power system resilience assessment and enhancement from the Electric Power Division of NTUA. He has worked in the Research, Innovation and Development Department of IPTO and he has participated to the studies on islands interconnection with the national interconnected transmission system and electricity generation adequacy. He is currently a senior researcher at the Smart Rue research group of NTUA. His research interests include TSO-DSO coordination, resilience assessment, and enhancement of power systems. He is member of IEEE and of the technical chamber of Greece.

Kostas Latoufis received a BEng and MEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Imperial College London (UK) in 2000. Since 2004, he has been working as a researcher with the Smart RUE research group of the Electric Power Division of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the area of Distributed Energy Resources, and is currently a PhD candidate in the Fluids Division of the NTUA School of Mechanical Engineering. He has co-founded the Rural Electrification Research Group (RurERG) of the NTUA, a group which conducts interdisciplinary research with the aim of providing open source technical solutions on small wind and pico-hydro systems for rural energy access. His research interests include off-grid renewable energy systems, axial flux permanent magnet generators, locally manufactured small wind turbines, rural electrification development projects, small wind turbine blade design and science, technology and society (STS) studies. He is an IEEE member, a member of the technical chamber of Greece and a member of the executive board of the Wind Empowerment association, a global network for the promotion of locally manufactured small wind turbines, and collaborates with other international or national sustainability projects such as the Open Building Institute and the School of the Earth.
