Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou participated at the panel discussion: "Empowering the Energy Transition", at the Enlit Europe 2023 in Paris.

Great #setplan session "Empowering the Energy Transition" at the #enliteurope2023. In the revised Set Plan upskilling and reskilling of the workforce is considered of paramount importance to meet the needs of a new energy and societal model. The key findings of the EU funded #EDDIE project, which is an industry-driven activity, indicate that challenges are not particularly differentiated among energy system sectors regarding #digitalization, namely:
- Technology integration,
- Data management and
- IT security issues
The industry also indicate the ability to easy learn new technical innovations, combined with logical thinking and the ability to quickly analyze data as very important qualities. Besides technical skills, green skills (energy efficiency, recycling, health and safety concerns, renewable sources, etc.), transversal skills, resilience and adaptability techniques are equally important.
