Nikolaos Savvopoulos received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Greece, in 2014 and the MSc degree in Electrical Power Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 2018. He was an Associate Scientist with the Automation Department of the ABB Corporate Research Center, Switzerland from 2016 to 2018. Since September 2018, he is a researcher with the Smart RUE research group of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). His main research focuses on planning and operation of active distribution grids, optimization under uncertainty and electricity markets. He has served as a peer reviewer for IET journals (Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Renewable Power Generation) and IEEE PES conferences. He is an active member of IEEE and CIGRE. In April 2020, he was elected as treasurer and board member of IEEE Greece Young Professionals for the years 2020 - 2021.
